The Ford Focus C-Max has taken the car market by storm. It’s a mid size MPV which will compete in the family car market against vehicles like the Nissan Qashqai, Renault Megane Sceneic, and Citroen Grand Picasso. The C-Max is winning plaudits as the pick of bunch due to its mixture of performance and practicality.

The C-Max could be classed as an MPV or a large hatchback. It shouldn’t be written off as poorer drive due to its MPV scale. The C-Max is an agile car that has excelled in performance tests against other cars in its class. It comes with a choice of engines, and the 1.6 litre petrol Ecoboost Titanium engine will prove to be the most popular, featuring a sophisticated turbo and a six speed gear box. There are also 1.6 and 2.0 diesel engines available or a more powerful 2.0 litre petrol version.

Top speed for the 1.6 petrol is an impressive 126mph and 0-62mph is a rapid 9.9 seconds. In an age of soaring fuel costs, the C-Max achieves a frugal 51.4mpg. Insurance deals should be on the cheaper side due to its sensible demeanour, an online search will possibly pinpoint Endsleigh as having the better deals.
It has the general air of a large Fiesta. It comes with 5 or seven seats – the 5 seater being a tad nimbler around corners, catering for the motorist who wants a large MPV but doesn’t want to sacrifice performance. The C-Max is often reviewed as being versatile and difficult to classify. It is enticingly hard to interpret so will appeal to a broad range of drivers. Seat adaptability is class leading with various folding and sliding options.
The C-Max falls in at insurance groups around the 13-20 mark and companies like Endsleigh offer reasonable deals.

The Ford C-Max is a vehicle that isn’t restricted by its large MPV status. It is a perfect blend of practicality and performance so even the driver without a family could fall for its charms. Not many vehicles could serve the single motorist or the family with 5 kids with equal aplomb, the C-Max certainly can.

The Ford Mondeo is a ubiquitous family and fleet car that was once famously heralded by the ex-prime minister Tony Blair as representing the aspirations of the ordinary man in the street, whom he christened ‘Mondeo Man’.

The first Mondeo appeared in 1993 when it was launched in three formats: a four door saloon; a five door estate; and a five door hatchback. It was designed to be a straight replacement of the Ford Sierra, though the Sierra was rear wheel drive and the Mondeo is front wheel drive.

The cost of developing the Mondeo was substantial and it began to appear that Ford had put a huge number of eggs into the Mondeo basket and the future fortunes of the company depended on it being a success.

The car was very different from those that it replaced and it was a substantial improvement over the Sierra. The chassis was derived from Volvo and the suspension system was excellent. Safety was a top priority both in terms of the car and its marketing. Also, the car employed the latest Ford Zetec petrol engine technology with a turbo diesel option.

The second generation Mondeo was launched in 1996. This was essentially a face lifted first generation though it became the third best selling car in the UK, but it failed to maintain that position and in particular it lost out to the Vauxhall Vectra. The engines included a nice 2.5 litre V6 unit.

The third generation was launched in 2000 with the Zetec engine replaced by 1.8 litre and 2.0 litre Duratec engines though the V^ was retained. In 2003 there was a facelift and some components that cold fail seriously were replaced. (all 1.8 and 2 litre Mondeo cars produced from 2000 to 2003 are suspect).

The current Mondeo is the fourth generation which was released in 2007. There is a large choice of trim levels and engines and the car is a little more upmarket and a lot of car for the money. It is also quite economical for a car of its size.

For the Ford Kuga think 4×4 Ford Focus, for that is essentially what it is. It is a car that seems unable to quite decide whether an off-road workhorse is or a sporty little car. To some extent it is neither of these, but then again perhaps it is both. It is not a real off-roader, but the 4 wheel drive means that it is able to tackle to quite uneven terrain in comfort, and it also has a fair amount of zip. It is quite a popular car amongst the boat towing community.

Although the styling of the Kuga is distinguished, by no imagination could you consider it to be a pretty car. There is something about its styling that gives the impression that things don’t quite match up; it seems to have been created using bits of other cars rather than designed from the bottom up.

The most popular version is the 2 litre diesel which delivers 136 bhp. This gives a 0 to 62 mph acceleration time of 10.5 seconds whilst returning a quite acceptable 46 mpg. There is also a turbocharged 2.5 litre petrol engine which develops 200 bhp and will do the 0 to 32 mph dash in 8.2 seconds, though it delivers a fairly uneconomical 29 mpg.

The handling of the Kuga is comparable to that of the Focus, so if you have driven a fast focus you will know how nice it feels when pushed very hard on bendy roads. Add to that the 4 wheel drive capability and you will have no complaints regarding the handling.

Comfort levels are high for both the driver and passengers. It is one of those cars that you can drive all day and at your journeys end still feel quite refreshed. One area that you might find a little disappointing is the luggage carrying capacity which is a little less than the focus. You can compare both models and more on motors.co.uk, a great place for all your car enquiries.

The Ford Fusion was introduced in 2002 as a car that offered many of the same features as the Ford Fiesta whilst providing additional space in terms of luggage, legroom and headroom.

Fusion is available in both petrol and diesel versions. The petrol engines include a 1.4 litre and a 1.6-litre and being Ford both of these are highly dependable, though neither are particularly powerful. The smaller of the two diesel engines is a 1.4 litre Turbo diesel which although providing an even torque distribution through the revs lacks acceleration, with 62 mph being reached from rest in a rather leisurely 16.3 seconds. The 1.6 litre TDCi is the most powerful engine and performs well. The more powerful diesel and petrol options have the option of a four speed Durashift gearbox, which is a manual gearbox that does not require a clutch.

The Fusion handles well as it comes from the Fiesta pedigree though the higher roof makes itself known in high speed corners by inducing a little extra roll. Just like the Fiesta, it is good in towns and easy to park.

Inside the finish is of good standard and ride is comfortable thanks to the firm and supportive seats. There is a large amount of space and when the split folding seats are in their down position there is a very large carrying capacity in the back of over 1,000 litres.

With three basic trim levels there is plenty of equipment available and the top level is crammed with equipment plus you get 15 inch alloy wheels. The driving position is more upright that on the Fiesta which gives you a much better view of the road and improved all round visibility which is a help when manoeuvring in tight places.

The Ford Fusion is an ideal city car which is easy to drive, very comfortable and with plenty of space. It is also fine on motorways and rural roads, though it is not a particularly fast mover.

The Ford Focus, since its release in 1998, has become a mainstay of the motoring market gaining massive popularity since replacing the world famous Ford Escort. The Focus has managed to span the car market, appealing to both families and young petrol heads, the car has been one of the most highly though of and biggest selling cars around now for 13 years. It has also been performing incredibly well on the World Rally circuit as well, adding even more to the car’s popularity. Now the car has been spruced up and given the 2011 treatment, bringing the range into the new decade with a bang. Just what is different about the new Focus though?

Well actually, quite a lot. The car has not really changed a great deal in the last half a decade or so and now there has been quite a few alterations to keep the customers interested. Some of the great new feature on the 2011 Focus include self-steering, active grille shuttering, a sizeable jump in refinement, dual-clutch gearboxes, five doors as standard and a set of new Ecoboost engines that all should help the focus impress in many ways, not least in safety tests.

The ecoboost engine is particularly impressive. Don’t let Ford’s earlier attempts at creating a greener engine lead you somewhere else, these things are very good. Both of the engines used in the different types of new Focus pack engines that spit out 177lb ft of torque so there should be no complaints from anyone wanting a bit of meat behind the bonnet from these cars. The slowest version of the car takes 8.6sec to reach 62mph as well so for a car in this price range, it is not a slouch. It looks as if Ford has continued its run with the Focus range and it is no surprise that the Focus has been one of the biggest selling new and used cars over the last 10 years.

A lot of people love Ford Flex, a tough yet luxurious SUV, because the car offers superb comfort and toughness at the same time. The sales are gradually increasing from time to time, and Ford is quick in picking up the momentum. After releasing Flex Limited, Ford is now making Ford Flex Titanium available on the market. What new features are offered by the Ford Flex Titanium? That is what we are going to take a look in this article.

When seen thoroughly, you will quickly notice that Ford Flex Titanium is nothing more than an upgrade in looks. The engine used to power Ford Flex Titanium is improved, but the performance improvement is not really substantial. Fuel consumption, however, is lowered quite substantially to go along with Ford’s efforts to be eco-friendly.

If you love Ford Flex because it’s bold and luxurious, you will certainly love the new Ford Flex Titanium even more. It offers a lot of personalized aspects including custom leather seats and interior accents as well as several choices of rims to use. If you followed our article about the new Ford Custom Graphics, you know that you can also add vinyl to make your Ford Flex Titanium even more personalized.

Ford’s versatile PowerFold third-row seat is also available in Ford Flex Titanium. With a push of a button you can change the position and setting of the third-row seat according to your needs and wants. For example, you can fold the third-row seat completely to provide more room for baggage.

There are a very large amount of things to consider when buying a car from the first time. Buying from a range of used cars for sale is likely to be a very good idea for a first time driver, for a large number of reasons. Younger drivers are likely to have less money than those with more experience of driving, so buying a used car makes complete financial sense in this way. Used cars offer very good value for money when compared to new cars, because they are likely to be in a very similar condition, just a couple of years older. It will be much easier for a new driver to be able to afford a second hand car than it would be for them to get a brand new car.

There is also the issue of insurance, which is often quite high for new drivers. If the newly qualified driver buys an older and therefore cheaper car their insurance is likely to be lower, which is obviously a very good thing. New drivers in a lot of cases are teenagers or students, who are unlikely to have a lot of spare money for brand new cars.

There are various other reasons why first time drivers might want to buy a used or second hand car from www.motors.co.uk/buy-a-car instead of a brand new one. Often younger people are not car enthusiasts, and only need a car for basic purposes –getting around the local area and occasionally further afield. There is no reason why people who have only just learnt to drive should need a brand new car or one that is very high powered.

It makes sense for all these reasons that new drivers should look into buying second hand or used cars rather than buying vehicles brand new. There is also the reason that new drivers might be nervous when they first get out on the road, and in the event of bumping the car it is much better that a used car is being driven.

Ford, just like many other American car manufacturers, is facing a serious issue; the environmental paradigm is changing and they need to quickly adapt to the new point of view. With other car manufacturers, especially Japanese and European manufacturers, already releasing their own brand of economical or hybrid cars to the market, everyone is expecting Ford to turn green as well. Can they pull it off?

It was not until Ford released the Ford Escape Hybrid that they are considered following the right path to become greener and more eco-friendly. The Ford Escape Hybrid is even considered as the most economical and green SUV in the world, offering nice mix of low fuel consumption and superb performance. It is also the only SUV capable of performing superbly when powered by a hybrid engine. Ford is on the right path indeed.

After the positive responses received for the Ford Escape Hybrid, Ford continues to develop eco-friendly engines for their latest cars. It is obvious that the company is taking climate change seriously and wants to offer better transportation solutions to answer the challenges. The 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid is one of the best cars when it comes to low fuel consumption marking another success by Ford, while the upcoming Mustang V6 1,000 Laps Challenge will prove that the high-performance Ford Mustang can go as far as 1,000 laps on a single tank.

All in all, Ford is doing a superb job in making their car lineup more eco-friendly. Expect to see more hybrids and eco-friendly cars from Ford in the future.
