Ford Mustang V6 1,000 Laps Challenge

Known as a sports car – or a muscle car to be exact – Ford Mustang was never famous for being economical when it comes to fuel consumption. The car itself is fun to drive and very affordable, but it also holds a reputation of having high fuel consumption to make the engine performs at its best. Mustang’s V6 engine is one powerful beast indeed. Since Ford is making a move towards greener cars, proving that high-performance Ford Mustang can also be economical is simply perfect. They are trying to do exactly that by announcing the Mustang V6 1,000 Laps Challenge campaign.

The Mustang V6 1,000 Laps Challenge is basically a nice test run to see if Ford Mustang and the new, eco-friendly, engine can perform just as good compared to previous gasoline engines used by the same model. To make it even more interesting, the new and improved 2011 Ford Mustang V6 will be driven through 1,000 laps at Bristol Motor Speedway on a single tank. This means the 2011 Ford Mustang will be consuming no more than one tank to travel a little over 500 miles distance.
